Many people seem to downplay the importance of acknowledgment in our daily lives.  Simply acknowledging facts can play a big role in our development as a person.

In difficult times, assessing the reality of a situation can help make things easier for ourselves, as well as other people involved.

With the COVID-19 virus, many people are on edge, and for good reason. People are not certain of the future. They are uncertain and scared not just for themselves, but also for loved ones.

By now it is common knowledge that the virus prefers to go after people with a compromised immune system, BUT such is not always the case. There have been quite a few rather healthy people that have also had the misfortune of contracting the virus.

While the survival rate may be higher than the fatality rate, there is no denying that what is happening IS real, and it should be treated as such.  Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives due to the virus, and with each day the numbers continue to grow.

Everyday life has changed dramatically, and people are filled with unease over the most simple of task. No longer do people feel safe going to the store to get groceries, or even going to hang out with their friends.

Our way of life has changed, and things will not return to normal until things start to change. The most important of them being an acknowledgment of the situation at hand

Acceptance of reality

Things cannot change unless people begin to see things as they are, and realize they can play a role in things returning to normal. In theory following the CDC guidelines may seem easy. but in reality, it is quite difficult for some.

No one wants to cut all face to face contact with friends and family, but it is necessary if you want things to go back to normal as quickly as possible.

Things cannot, and will not go back to how they were before until people begin to accept what is happening and implement proper actions to help in stopping the spread.

People want change, and if everyone does their part then we will get it. Nothing will change without action, and this will be no exception.

Once everyone begins to follow the CDC guidelines and does what needs to be done, we will see major improvements.

Changes in your personal situations

Although social distancing and the implementation of basic hygiene may be huge game-changers when it comes down to stopping the spread of COVID-19, they likely are not going to help change things in your personal life.

However, the core message remains the same.  That being, ACKNOWLEDGMENT BEGETS CHANGE

  • If you acknowledge you are an alcoholic, then you realize that you have an alcohol problem, and are one step closer to sobriety.
  • If you acknowledge you have anger problems, then you can work to find out what makes you upset, and how to change that.

It does not matter what the situation you face is, if you can acknowledge your fault, and not be in denial of how things are, then there is no limit to what can happen.

Conclusion

If you want to live the best life you can live, then an acknowledgment of the situation is a crucial step to achieving it. Whether there is a global pandemic or a personal problem, the first step to change is to acknowledge.
