2023 has the potential to be your best year yet. It’s up to you to make that a reality though.
You need to decide if that is a challenge you want to take on.
As with everything else, your actions have consequences.
They will either reinforce your ambitions or leave you exactly where you were before.
Commit to having your best year yet.
We’ve talked about commitment before. It’s a big part of the self-improvement journey and is a fundamental building block to success.
It should come as no surprise that in order for 2023 to be better than all the previous years you will need to commit to practices that you didn’t previously.
Afterall, positive change cannot come about on its own. You must work for it. Even if you win the lottery, you still need to buy the tickets first.
For instance, if you had a resolution last year to get in shape but failed it halfway through January ( as most people tend to do ) 19 Mind-Blowing New Year’s Resolution Statistics (2023) (insideoutmastery.com)
you just need to be more persistent next time.
That’s much easier said than done.
However, if you want 2023 to be different, you must act differently. Extraordinary change requires extraordinary action.
That means putting your all into something. Whatever that goal may be.
It doesn’t matter whether it is getting in shape, improving your mental health, or working on your business, you need to take the time to incorporate it into your routine.
This is a great way to manage time and can lead to serious growth if you remain consistent at it.
These actions may be difficult to retain at times, however in doing so, you are ensuring good habits for your present as well as your future self.
The issue arises when the motivation leaves you. It’s easy to give it your all at first. But after a week or two it may start to feel more like a chore.
If you want 2023 to be the best year yet, then you need to ignore the urge to give up and give in. Don’t do what you’ve gotten so accustomed to doing.
Don’t let 2023 be like every other year. Push through the doubt and the discomfort. It’s through this perseverance that we grow. By not giving in, we are aligning ourselves closer with our ideal selves.
Fortunately, there are ways to remotivate you when you’re not feeling quite up to the task.
When motivation is sparse, there are several things we can do to change that.
- Divide your big goal up into easier to achieve micro goals.
- Remind yourself of what you are working towards.
- Periodically reward yourself.
Your response determines your outcome.
How you respond to your objective determines your success. Are you going to give it your all or are you going to give up whenever things are outside of your comfort level.
You get what you give. So, bare that in mind whenever you are going through a spell of demotivation.
Although remaining true to your goal can be challenging, it is also deeply rewarding when you do. Especially when all is said and done, and you have accomplished what you worked so hard for.
So are you going to persevere, or are you going to give up and try again some other time?
Don’t dwell on the past.
Don’t beat yourself up for not sticking to your goals in previous years.
Sure it can be a bit discouraging at times. You may feel like you could be much farther ahead then you are because of your lack of willpower. But that’s not something to waste your time or energy thinking about.
Focus on right now and committing in this moment. You can’t change the past, but you can absolutely change your future.
Conclusion
2023 can be the best year of your life. It’s all up to you. It’s your choice to make. You can either stick to your goals and change your life. Or stay where you are and continue living with mediocrity.
