Having a healthy lifestyle is a goal that many people strive to achieve and for good reason. A person’s health, whether it be physical or mental plays a vital role in his or her quality of life.  Fortunately for us, there are many ways to have a healthy lifestyle, but for the sake of time, I have condensed things down a bit. Here are 4 easy ways to live a healthier life.

Exercise

Exercising is a great way to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Exercise is not only good for a person physically, but it is also very important to a  person’s mental health as well.

In fact, aerobic exercises have been shown to reduce anxiety and depression. Both of which can take years off of a person’s life. Exercise in any form is good. Even walking is a good way to remain in good physical shape.  Exercise for Mental Health (nih.gov)

Eating healthier foods.

This one is a bit more obvious. Generally, if a person wishes to be healthier, one of the first things that will come to mind besides exercise (at least for me personally) is food. Good food is vital to a person’s health so it is wise to be careful what you eat. Sure a bit of junk food may not be bad every once in a while, but it is not good for a person’s body to eat it all the time (more on that later on). There are foods, however that are extremely beneficial to eat often. These foods include

It is also important to note that just as healthy foods can be beneficial for us, unhealthy foods can be just the opposite 13 Effects of Fast Food on the Body (healthline.com). Eating Unhealthy foods can put you at a higher risk of obesity and depression. This shows how important what we put into our bodies actually is both physically and mentally. If we want to maintain a healthier lifestyle, we cannot afford to put poison in our bodies (at least not on a consistent basis).

Reading

Reading is good for a person no matter the age, however, it is especially important that older people do it, seeing as though It “decreases mental decline in old age”.
